THE CHALLENGE
Dominating the Show Floor
Warner Brothers Interactive Entertainment (WBIE) had exciting goals for their E3 presence. With a large booth space at their disposal, they aimed to immerse attendees in the world of gaming, particularly their highly anticipated title, Shadow of War. This epic game was to be the centerpiece of their showcase, transporting visitors to Middle-earth.
However, the challenge was twofold. Many of WBIE’s exciting projects were still in development, making traditional gameplay demos impossible. Additionally, they sought to elevate the overall demo experience for attendees, ensuring that their time at the booth was both engaging and memorable.
Ultimately, WBIE’s objective was clear: to solidify their position as a gaming industry leader by showcasing their diverse portfolio of blockbuster titles, both current and upcoming. The booth needed to be a dynamic space where fans could experience the thrill of these games, even if they weren’t yet playable.
THE SOLUTION
A Cinematic Showcase
Impact XM transformed the WBIE booth into a captivating Middle-earth experience, transporting attendees straight into the heart of Shadow of War. Working hand-in-hand with the WBIE creative team, we crafted an immersive environment complete with mesmerizing sound design and dramatic lighting to truly set the scene.
As visitors delved deeper into the booth, they encountered an extensive yet engaging queue for a viewing of the Shadow of War trailer. At its center stood a towering, climbable dragon, a breathtaking focal point and a selfie-lover’s dream.
To ensure engagement while waiting in the long queue, Orcs from the game roamed the area, adding an authentic touch and creating memorable interactions. At the end of the line guests were welcomed inside a soundproof theater, where they were treated to a cinematic-quality preview, showcasing the game’s stunning visuals and immersive gameplay.
Beyond the Shadow of War realm, a dynamic studio set showcased the broader WBIE game lineup. Live interviews with the game developers offered attendees exclusive insights, tips, and tricks, transforming the booth into a vibrant hub of knowledge. These sessions were not only engaging for live audiences but also provided valuable content for WBIE to share post-show.
To ensure attendees repeatedly visited the booth throughout the show, interactive activities like character drawing workshops were scheduled daily and hands-on game demos were available. For more private conversations, dedicated meeting rooms provided a sleek and professional space for WBIE representatives to connect with stakeholders.
THE IMPACT
Drawing in approximately 60,000 confirmed visitors, the booth was a constant hub of activity and excitement. The result was an one-of-a-kind booth experience that captivated attendees, exceeded expectations, and solidified WBIE’s position as a video gaming industry leader.
