Crafting a Groundbreaking Experiential Engagement
THE CHALLENGE
Bridging the Gap
Takeda, a global leader in gastrointestinal medicine, launched a groundbreaking initiative to strengthen its commitment to the community that lives with and treats patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).
The IBD Project, Takeda’s innovative and creative campaign, supports continual cooperation, learning, and adaptation to ever-evolving needs for people living with IBD, especially for underrepresented groups. This program aims to revolutionize the healthcare landscape, support meaningful patient outcomes, promote early diagnosis, and confirm Takeda as a trusted Partner in IBD.
At the Digestive Disease Week (DDW) congress, Takeda aimed to highlight their new initiative, The IBD Project, and establish a strong presence and provide meaningful patient support. They sought to create an immersive, experiential platform to provide comprehensive education on IBD for healthcare practitioners.
This exhibit served as the launchpad for TheIBDProject.com and IBDIQ.com, significantly amplifying the initiative’s reach and impact. Furthermore, the entire experience reinforced Takeda’s values-based culture, brought to life through actions based on Patient-Trust-Reputation-Business (PTRB), demonstrating their dedication to all stakeholders.
THE SOLUTION
Engaging and Empowering
Impact XM, along with Pivot Design and Evolution Health Group, played an important role in launching The IBD Project to the healthcare providers at DDW. The cross-agency collaboration with Takeda was extremely important in creating a strategic analysis and developing the four core messaging pillars that would form the foundation of The IBD Project.
With this strategic framework in place, Impact XM seamlessly translated these pillars into an immersive in-booth experience. Each pillar came to life within its own dedicated zone, offering attendees an interactive, educational, and collaborative environment for learning.
The IBD Project kicked off with a splash at the center of a spacious 50×70 exhibit. As visitors entered, they were instantly drawn to the open layout showcasing distinct zones. At each station, Takeda’s knowledgeable staff was on hand to provide personalized guidance – a key element emphasized by Impact XM for the booth’s success. Designed with flexibility in mind, the modular exhibit’s vignettes could be easily adapted to fit various venues and future events.
The design itself marked a significant departure from Takeda’s traditional branding. We incorporated a vibrant color palette, contemporary architectural elements, and innovative lighting to stand out amidst the bustling show floor. Impact XM’s innovative design brought Takeda’s vision for a groundbreaking educational initiative to life. The interactive modules, set within a modern architectural backdrop, provided healthcare professionals with an engaging and immersive experience while fostering open community dialogue around IBD.
Beyond the striking visuals, the booth offered a truly engaging experience. A community-driven mosaic photo opportunity added a layer of social interaction and fostered a sense of unity amongst attendees. This combination of elements culminated in a comprehensive and engaging experience that connected all aspects of IBD disease state education. The booth also served as a central hub for collaboration and conversations on the show floor, facilitating engaging discussions and knowledge exchange. This was successfully executed by hosting 3 in-booth presentations with key opinion leaders within the IBD space.
Takeda’s commitment to inclusivity was evident in every detail of the booth, down to the hospitality selections. By providing both gluten-free and regular pretzel options for hospitality, the team was able to ensure all attendees could enjoy a delicious snack, regardless of their dietary restrictions. This small, but meaningful gesture demonstrated Takeda’s dedication to creating a welcoming and accommodating environment for all attendees, reinforcing the core values of the initiative.
THE IMPACT
Takeda leadership praised the Impact XM-executed exhibit at DDW, stating that it perfectly embodied their vision. This pioneering effort not only elevated Takeda’s image but also positioned them as a thought leader and an advocate for individuals living with IBD.
The IBD Project booth at DDW was a resounding success, drawing significant engagement from attendees. The booth’s design and interactive elements attracted a steady stream of visitors, and their quantitative goals were exceeded.
With the success of the exhibit at DDW and the modulatory of the design, Takeda Pharmaceuticals is excited to bring their IBD Project exhibit to more Congress events throughout 2024 and 2025 to continue to educate HCPs and advocate for patients living with the disease.
