Designing Holiday Wonder
The holiday season is a critical time for retail, and Holt Renfrew continually pushes the envelope to create window displays that capture attention, drive foot traffic, and generate buzz. For this project, the challenge was to design enchanting, memorable scenes that fit within compact storefront windows across multiple locations in Canada, while still conveying the magic, elegance, and playful spirit of the season.
THE SOLUTION
Enchanting Every Moment
Impact XM partnered with Holt Renfrew to bring the holiday spirit to life in ways that were both innovative and immersive. Each window featured a delicate snowscape and a series of caves, carefully designed to accommodate a dining room scene and a custom train set. Some niches incorporated automatic doors that opened and closed on a continuous loop, adding an interactive, kinetic element that delighted passersby.
The train set became a highlight, traveling through the windows and carrying Holt Renfrew’s iconic pink bears from one scene to the next, enchanting viewers of all ages. Large sparkling snow sculptures added a sense of wonder, while the design ensured that each window felt cohesive yet unique.
Inside the stores, signature fixtures were refreshed to complement the exterior magic, including Instagram-worthy holiday moments centered around the brand’s beloved pink bear. The combination of whimsical storytelling, moving elements, and thoughtful design transformed each window into a miniature winter wonderland, extending the festive experience from the street into the store itself.
