Global agency doubles down on commitment to creating a safer, healthier and more inclusive industry.
Dayton, N.J. (Jan. 30, 2024) — Impact XM, a global full-service event and experiential marketing agency, is redefining the industry through its enhanced commitment to sustainability. Embracing a proactive practice vs. end-goal approach, the agency is applying the four pillars of sustainability established by the U.S. National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 (NEPA) – human, social, economic, and environmental – to its business practices while simultaneously educating and encouraging employees, clients, associates, partners, and the industry on becoming more sustainable.
In accordance with its commitment to creating a healthier and more inclusive industry, Impact XM developed seven action areas for a more sustainable approach to event planning including conservation, innovation, waste reduction, sustainable cities & communities, health, wellness & equality, partners & platform, and purpose & commitment. The agency has also created an internal Sustainability Board composed of over 20 volunteer members across the company who are focused on learning, planning, and driving actions to be more sustainable. Members have begun to report on areas such as GHG emissions, waste management, labor & human rights, and much more that will be included in their annual report coming out later this year.
“Sustainability is not just a trend, it is a responsibility that all businesses should try to keep top of mind,” said Heather Griffin, Vice President of Marketing and head of sustainability at Impact XM. “By embracing these forward-thinking practices and making them an integral part of our business, we’re not only making great improvements internally but also paving the way for more purposeful and sustainable experiences for our clients and partners.”
In addition, Impact XM has made multiple global commitments including annually disclosing their environmental impact through CDP to tackle environmental risks and find new opportunities to increase sustainability practices. The company also reports annually to EcoVadis, a globally recognized assessment platform rating businesses’ sustainability, to manage ESG risk and compliance and to meet environmental goals which guide their ecological performance improvement at the company. EcoVadis recently awarded Impact XM with a Bronze Medal for their current sustainability practices. Finally in 2023, Impact XM also committed to a science-based target of a 42% reduction in scope 1 & 2 emissions by 2030 which is aligned with the 1.5˚C climate target outlined by The Paris Agreement.
The company works with a vast network of partners to identify, consult, and manage the right options for each client’s sustainability goals including Ntension, Brumark, Aluvision, Materials for the Arts, Fill it Forward, MeetGreen, Purpose Net Zero and many more.
As one of the business’s key philosophies is giving back to the community, Impact XM has also partnered with a number of global and local organizations including the International Tree Foundation to plan and protect trees in local communities and the Hunger Project to provide individuals with the right education and tools to end hunger.
As technology evolves, the agency plans to continue to grow its sustainability efforts and share its knowledge by hosting educational webinars, sharing annual public sustainability reports, offering greener materials to clients, and earning additional green supplier certifications.
